Developed chiefly on site at the English facilities of the BMW Group's product division, it will be equipped with a 1.6-litre engine from a plant in Brazil operated jointly with Chrysler.
 
Positioned as the direct successor to Sir Alec Issigonis's 1959 classic, the new generation adds state-of-the-art technology to traditional MINI values such as optimum interior space within compact exterior dimensions and superior driving comfort.
